Stayed a day and a night here to experience Oslob. Place was easy to find as the bus driver and conductor knows where to us off. The facade of this lodge is nice and relaxing, almost zenful. We arrived very early in the morning and they accommodated our early check in request. Our itinerary for the day were whaleshark experience and Sumilon island. They have a shuttle service that took us to the whaleshark point for a minimal fee. The driver waited for us after and then ped us to the registration center to Sumilon Island. He assisted us too as we don't have reservations yet to the Island. He also picked us later that evening even though our boat was delayed for almost an hour. The staff in this lodge is very nice and helpful. They were able to guide us and gave directions to the places and landmarks we wanted to visit. Lodge is also just a few blocks away from the ruins and Oslob Church. We went there the morning before we checked out.

This is THE place to see whale sharks. We arrived late afternoon, and we were able to arrange everything through our hotel to see the whale sharks the next morning. The people are nice, the rooms are spotless, and there are some delicious grilled meat street food on the main street. The roosters are loud but everyone should know this going in. They are everywhere in the country!

Me and my partner plannned to stay in Oslob for just 2 nights which is good enough to see the highlights in oslob which are whale watching tumalog falls, aguinid falls and that over looking around Oslob up above the hills. But that turns to many nights extension as we fell in love with this place, first and foremost the staff are very helpful. my partner had a minor accident/wound and without hesitation the staff themselves healed and took care on it. without asking something in return. The rooms are very cozy and relaxing plus the hot shower, fair enough from the rate per night we have paid. We've been to many places around philippines but the people in Oslob are very kind and hospitable. Planning latest december to be back in this beautiful place with the same lodge/inn

Stayed here for an overnight with my whole family. We reserved 3 air conditioned room. The price is affordable, the place/rooms are nice and clean, Very accommodating and the place is close to the main street so its not hard to locate the area. Roughly 10-15mins. Away going to Tumalog falls and whale shark watching. The only downside is they don't offer breakfast/lunch/dinner so you have to go outside to eat. BUT you can bring your own stuffs for cooking and just cook your own food. I can really recommend this place.

We're so glad we decided to stay at New Village Lodge instead of Tanawan, our host Hanz couldn't be more helpful, and what a lovely guy. Kareen took us on a tour of the town and showed us all the highlights. Minong the effervescent and hilarious hotel assistant was always ever present to make sure we had everything we needed. Hanz arranged everything for us to get to the whalesharks early and a trip up to the falls on the way back. All too easy. The rooms are spotlessly clean, tidy and basic with a lovely garden frontage off the street. Stay in Oslob over Tanawan any day, it's only 10 minutes drive from the whale sharks and the township is 100% more beautiful than Tanawan surrounds. A lovely promenade park, some historic ruins to explore, beautiful gardens, quiet backstreets and a good market. We really wanted to stay and chill out another day it's such a lovely spot. We left Oslob feeling like we shared something authentic with our hosts, not just a 'we did the whalesharks' tick it off the list tour.

My daughter, her friend and I travelled to Oslob and stayed at the New village. Shirley, Iyam (apologies if I have spelt your name wrong) and katrina went out of there way to do their very best to make sure we were comfortable and were always informative when asked about the best way to book our adventures. We went to see the whale sharks and was taken via motorcycle with a lovely young man called Paul who later took us to the waterfalls which were idyllic. Oslob is really lovely and you feel safe walking around the nearby town. It is close to the sea however the beach itself needs to be developed. Theres a beautiful church and local bar where you can join the locals participating in Kareoke (really good fun on our Halloween night out). The rooms are clean and lovely and reasonably priced and the gardens outside are beautiful.

The New Village lodge is pretty small but has both regular rooms and dorm style rooms. We were two people and got a regular room. The room is small but has what you need. Bed, own bathroom, and wifi (actually pretty fast compared to the standard in the Philippines). It is also quite affordable and they can help you with most things. Staff is very friendly and will help you arrange all your trips in the area - the whaleshark watching, waterfalls, hot springs, etc. They call the drivers to take you there and then you pay the drivers.

They have the nicest owner and the friendliest caretaker named Minong. They are very accommodating and are very helpful to local tourists and tourist from other countries as well. Minong is so helpful that he can do everything for you from giving you tips on where to eat, to cooking you a meal, to washing dishes, to entertaining you and to doing anything. They also can offer you a ride to whale-shark watching and tumalog falls for an affordable price.

We stayed overnight and had a great time. Staff were really nice and very accomodating. Their rooms are clean and they have hot and cold shower too. It's not pricey and yet they have quite good accomodations. Good for backpackers who, after a long trip and a series of adventures, want peace and quiet to rest. They have a good location as they are situated on the proper. Just a few walks away and you'll arrive at the Heritage Park. Also there's an old church (quite don't know the name. sorry.) and the balwarte and they said there's also a museum but it was closed when we visited. (twas Sunday). They also offered us a ride (for a fee, of course) to the falls as well as the whale sharks the next day. It was a great experience stayin in their place and I would recommend it if you want to stay at Oslob.

I chose this place not for its location but due to its good reviews and I was not disappointed! The place is clean, affordable and so close to shops & heritage sites. Hanz (the host), was very accomodating, informative and even went for an extra mile to take us for a tour to the bay park and heritage sites for free. Thank you Hanz for your warm & genuine hospitality. I look forward to coming back to your place soon for future family get togethers.

Morris, Davao (Philippines)
The location of the place was very ideal because it is in the Poblacion area. Very accessible to any locations in Oslob and just a few meters away from the Heritage Park and Oslob Museum. The rooms are basic, simple and clean. The place was peaceful and quiet. Ideal for an overnight Stay. The staffs are friendly. They even allowed us to drink coffee early in the morning even if their was no one manning the counter.

A pleasant, clean and cheap little family operation that proved ideal for a quick stay before heading off early to see whale sharks. Looked like they were adding to the facilities while we were there. The family was very helpful in organising transport to local attractions, as well as arranging for us to catch a boat from the whale shark site across to our next destination at Panglao Island.

It was my second time to stay at Oslob New Village Lodge. The first time I was alone and recently with my gf. What I love about this lodge is the feeling of being at home. Everyone is just so friendly and helpful and entertaining. The owner, Hanz, who became a good friend, is so hands on, and makes sure that the guests gets 100% satisfaction with their vacation. The new rooms are very nice, the lights inside creates a good mood, the beds are properly tucked, the linen and towels are clean, and the best of it all, it has a hot shower! Yippey! It is one of the most affordable accommodations in Oslob. I would say, great value for my money. Plus the room has its own terrace where I can enjoy my smoke and coffee early in the morning in front of the lovely garden. A bar and restaurant is on its way. Right now they only cook food for us on special request. I hope next time when I come back with my family, they are already serving delicious food and ice cold beer. Highly recommended!

New Village Lodge is pretty good. It's got a hot/cold shower and air-conditioned rooms that can accommodate groups and pairs. Everything's clean and tidy. The caretaker was really nice and helpful. Parking is available. Reservations were done through money remittance here in the PH, b/c they didn't have their Paypal email when I asked for it. That option is available though.

This lodge was 3-3.5 hours away from cebu city airport by private drive. My friends and I stayed for 3 days 2 nights. We had the deluxe room with AC and private washroom with hot shower. The lodge itself was very nice and simple. We availed the tour package which included trips to Kawasan Falls, Moalboal Basdaku Beach, Whalesharks, Mainit Hot Springs, and the beautiful Sumilon Islands. A bad storm hit Oslob few days just before we arrived and we were told some of the major bridges/roads got destroyed and deemed unsafe. We missed one of the falls but Kuya Hanz, the owner, took the other hours-long road and still drove us to Kawasan even if the shortcut bridge was down. I think that was very kind and wonderful of him to do so we wont miss the wonder of Kawasan. The owner and other staff were very polite and attentive to our needs. Just genuine Cebuano hospitality, our Cebu trip wont be as fun if we didn't stay in this lodge. I do recommend this place! South Cebu was such a beautiful place!

We spent one night at the lodge and it was a really good experience. Clean and tidy, the stuff super friendly and ready if you need help. Close to the whale sharks. Just great.

We arrived at Oslob New Village Lodge at 8pm from Cebu City. Townsmen were happy to show us where New Village Lodge is and showed the signage. Its a few blocks away from the town center. When we arrived, Staff quickly accommodated us and showed us our room. We had to ask questions where to eat and make prior arrangements for our next day tour for Whale Watching and Tumalog Falls. I asked that our breakfast be served early at 530am so we can leave early for Whale Watching. We are pleased to see that breakfast was served on time. The package that we got for 2 heads amounting to 4070php includes breakfast, tour and fees. The driver was on time too at 6am. Our room has aircondition, its neat and had clean sheets. Towels and Toilet paper was also included. I like the homey atmosphere that showcased water lilies on the pond, chickens roaming around, nearby neighborhood is friendly. I like that people working here are older people/senior citizens. I would definitely go back in this lodge.

After travelling around Cebu island and having cold shower, lots of bugs in rooms and non-flushing toilets for few weeks I expected the same from New Village Lodge. To be honest, I didn't have warm shower but regarding other reviews I assume they have hot water at some point. However, if there are some downsides they're all forgotten when you talk with the friendliest staff ever. From the very beginning I felt very warmly welcomed when I hadn't even got out from the taxi and there were already four ladies with good teamwork carrying my heavy backpack to my room - you can't do nothing but love those people. Room was very clean and had enough space for two of us.

I can no longer count with my fingers the number of times I stayed here in Oslob New Village Lodge. The first time I've been here, I already experienced the kind of generous hospitality that we Filipinos have been known for. The owner took care of me and my needs, toured me around the beautiful nature spots and made sure I was comfortable and have everything I need to make my vacation a memorable one. On those other times that I came back for a much longer stay, if the owner wasn't around, his staff made sure that everything has been taken care of. As for the room, the price is affordable, the amenities are modern, the room is spacious and clean. I felt very much at home which is why I keep coming back to this place whenever I'm in Cebu. I truly recommend this place to anyone visiting Oslob and its whalesharks. You will surely have an unforgettable vacation like I did! Two thumbs up!!! (^_^)

After I come, the rooms was ready, clean, with blankets and finally a good internet connection. Just problem is a access to the beach, which is like 500m from the place, even the house is actually 30m from ocean. Place is close to main road, where is all food and groceries. Staff was welcoming and friendly, made me a laundry, bring coconuts, help with my questions and prepare for next travelling through Visayas. Recommend!

Me and my friend arrived around 10pm after a bus journey. We stayed in the dorm room. Clean linen was put on the beds as we arrived. The lady arranged for her husband to collect us at 6am to snorkel with the whale sharks about 20 minutes away. He was so lovely, he even lent us money so we could hire an underwater camera ( which is a must!) He then took us to the most beautiful waterfall. Then took us to the boat so we could continue our journey to Bohol. All before 9am! Only stayed one night, but a great place. Best nights sleep I've had in ages! Stayed May 2014, traveled with friends

The hotel is affordable and close to stores or tindahan. the caretaker and the owner are kind and helpful during our trip. We had blast during our stay, place is affordable, staff and the owner are friendly and helpful. this place is highly recommended who wants to have fun in oslob, cebu. the caretaker who helped us on our trip and make sure that we have a fun time during our stay was really fun to be with. we would definitely comeback to this place and i would recommend this place to anyone especially in the future because the owner told us that he will build a swimming pool in the hotel.

Our stay here had an unfortunate beginning- 8 hours of bumpy un-airconditioned travel. What I will remember was the effort to recover: Its one thing to make a mistake, but how they go about fixing it is the true measure of hospitality. Im pleased to say they did a great job – better than some 5 star Manila Hotels. The rooms are new, small, clean and adequate. But you have to think “small town” – there is no Jolibee or MacDonalds in Oslob. And any Hotel with hot water is “luxury” here – So if you adjust your western expectations down a few steps you won’t be disappointed. The level of care/ hospitality is genuine. Its like staying with your favourite aunt and uncle. Would I stay again ? probably not- the Whale Shark experience is great but not a repeat for me. Would I send a friend there – for sure! – but I’d get my friend to book direct, reconfirm a few times and even get the staff to arrange pickup from the bus and to do day tours. That would make it a great excursion.

Its my first time in Oslob and the local people are very friendly when we stayed here. The hospitality and services make us comfartable just like our homeground. Oslob very peacefull and beautifull nature. When we woke up, we can heard the chicken wake us up in the morning. One of their staff, I think her name Miranda or Melinda (not sure) but she really kind. she always replcae hot water and give the termos to us to get hot water and she always ask us if us uncomfortable or not and also Mr Hanz also help us give a direction how to go there and there. What ever it is, I already miss them and the place also give me 1001 memories.
